Welcome!!
First and foremost I just want to say thank you. If you are new to my blog, Welcome to the favorite corner of my mind. It's the chair of my room, you know that chair. Everyone has that chair. Come on, don't front. It's the one you dump all your belongings on day after day, week after week, until it becomes so overwhelmed that it topples over. I would offer you a seat but- the chair!
THE REAL MVP'S
If you are returning to my blog. I apologize for the long pause. See what happened was... Look, I don't even want to insult your intelligence with a poor excuse. I simply want to thank you for your patience and persistent encouragement. I can't write a Facebook status without one of you shouting in the comments "When are you going to write again?" The aggression is real! I love it though. It's good to know that I have people in my corner who see my potential and push me into purpose. Where are these tears coming from?? Who is cutting onions??
THE TRUTH IS
It has been way too long since I last blogged. I can definitely accredit that to the spirit of PROCRASTINATION. Yes, it is true! Laziness came in like a hurricane and washed all my motivation away. But somebody say REDEMPTION. I have been redeemed. I got my swagger back.
Often times we find ourselves losing sight of our goals, our standards and our proper judgement. This is because we give inches to things, people and organizations that gladly take miles. Let me explain. I have been in a season of complacency for the past six years. Comfort can be so deceitful. Have you ever been in bed, fully rested and then you remember that you forgot to turn out the light downstairs? Man!! That is a level of pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I got so comfortable being bottled up that I forgot what happens when things get shaken and not stirred. Writing was my way of getting it out since I was a child. I would write stories, poems and diary entries often. I didn't want any icky emotions festering in me.
My dreams for my future only thrive in wholeness and progression. I lost sight of that fact back in 2014. I took a break from writing because I experienced a bad case of writer's block. Every time I sat down to create, I would end up hating my work. I regret that decision now. What I thought would be a quick six months to a year, ending up being six years of agony. I robbed myself, the ability to vent freely. I wasn't thinking clearly, I went cold turkey and took everything off the table, including journal writing. I just didn't want to turn into a giant red pen of correction. I have always been my toughest critic.
Instead of facing my own issues, I decided to dive head first into the goals of others. I poured myself into everyone else's business like I had none of my own. You wanted a program put together, I was your girl. If you needed me, I would forsake myself to come to your rescue. I taught people to rely on a level of strength in me that was very difficult to maintain.
In the past six years life has kicked my butt like I had to undergo gang initiation. Blow after blow, I have learned how to crouch and duck. My faith, purpose and strength has been tested. I've loved and lost and loved again. Blood, sweat and tears- all undocumented. Now it's time to write again. It's time to create on purpose-in purpose. Bay-Bee!! It's 2020. The vision has been restored. You have a front row seat to my destiny. READY, SET, HERE I GO!!!!
Be and Stay Blessed
